Ashushana The Mushroom Mother - Original Graphite Drawing, 4x6

Meet Ashushana, the Mushroom Mother, an ancient mother of life and renewal whose youthful face holds the wisdom of countless seasons.

In my mythology, Ashushana tends the unseen connections beneath our feet. Through the fungal kingdom, she gathers what has fallen and transforms it into nourishment for what comes next. The mushrooms growing from her body express her connection to the earth and its enduring cycles of life.

Beneath an autumn tree, with the sun behind her, she embodies the sacred feminine: patient, connected, and quietly powerful. As leaves fall around her, she reminds us that the earth is still creating - and that endings can nourish new beginnings.

Created for Day 11 of my Drawing Magical Black Women challenge, this original drawing brings her story to life through graphite shading and botanical details.
